Even though most of us make our runescape income fairely theres those few people who think they can get away with scamming. Jagex has done a lot to prevent scamming from changing the font color in the money from the differnt ks it goes throug, to stressing that you need to chek the second trade menu. Below are a few scams that can cost you a lot.
Timeing away- when a player somehowerfectley times when your about to accept and he takes away all his coins just look at your second menu and this wont be a problem
The diversion- A player will offer u 200k for sometihng and contiuolsy post pintles items like fising bait and bronz things he will then decrease the 200k to 20k while ur focusin on the otehr tiems. This is pointless because the money price will change from white to yellow.
The piss you off so you accept without thinkiner..er- He offers you like 200k for sometihng then keeps declinging or messing the trade up etc. Till ur so pissed of that when he offrs 20k itlooks like a whopping 200k and ur like yes he accepted so now you accept aand ya u get the point.
Next there are the nontrade scams. Be aware tht you can NOT duplicate items or hack into the ruenscape system and that all mods have a crown next to there name. Below are some commen scams tht can make ou vry upset
The fake mod- He says hes mod and tells you give me your pass ill dupe your items level up yor skills or make you a member. First of all this breaks abotu a dozen rules and a real mod wouldnt do it, secondly mods cant do any of tht stuff, and thirdly hes not a mod if he dosnt have a crown next to his name.
The drop out- A player tells you to drop ur best item and press alt f4 and ur item will bu doubled. Al this does is shutdown you window and leaves ur item for the picking.
The hey you wanna be a member- The scammer says give me your pass and ill make you a member... Dont be an idiot you knowe what will ocme next.
Also be aware of players seling acc's its against the rules and chances are there jsut scamming you.
So report scammers, keep your eye out for anythign that seems to good to be true or a little wierd, dont give out your pass toa ynone and just use common sense.
